Through International Medical Corps, Hope toured the Azraq Syrian refugee camp in Jordan where the program operates a maternal health program. In 2018, both Hope Smith and her husband, American businessman and Founder, Chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners, Robert F. Smith, were recognized by International Medical Corps and honored with the organization's Humanitarian Award.
Family Fellowship Program
Hope Smith, along with her husband, began their journey with Foster Love in 2015. In the fall of that year, they met with the first Fellows of the Family Fellowship Program at a lunch.
During the event, the group bonded over stories of resilience and ambition. At the conclusion of the lunch, the students were presented with new MacBooks, as well as the promise of financial and emotional support throughout their college journey.
The Family Fellowship Program was launched with support from Foster Love and the Fund II Foundation, of which Robert F. Smith is Founding Director and President. The Fund II Foundation provides support to organizations like Foster Love and others that sustain the values of entrepreneurship, empowerment, innovation, and security.
Foster Love offers the Fellows financial support, as well as academic assistance, mentorship, care packages, housing assistance, job assistance, and leadership building activities. All of the Fellows are former foster youth who plan to attend a university, community college, or trade school education.
Hope Smith and Robert F. Smith continue to support the Family Fellowship Program and the Fellows. Each year, during the winter holiday season, the couple welcomes the children to their home. In the past, participating Fellows journeyed to their Denver home, where they visited an escape room, hiked the mountains, tubed through the snow, road trains, snowmobiled, celebrated birthdays, and opened presents. The highlight of these trips for some students was visiting the Smiths' clubhouse, where they made a gumbo dinner with Robert F. Smith and engaged in memorable activities, such as singing karaoke and playing board games. During these trips, the students also benefited from speaking with other students in the program they may not see on a day-to-day basis in a small-group setting. While connecting with other Fellows, they shared stories and swapped experiences about the program.
"My favorite part of hanging out with Foster Love is definitely the winter trips," said Mikayla, a long-time Foster Love member, when remarking on her most recent trip. "This is my third time I have been out, and I have just enjoyed it so much every time. I look forward to this every year, and it just has been a really great time. I love hanging out with my family."

A Lonestar-state native, Hope Smith was born in Port Lavaca, Texas. She completed an accelerated high school program at 16 while also winning Miss Teen Texas America. In 2001, she signed with Wilhelmina Models in New York City and later began her career in television, first as a host and producer on Inside Fashion (Canada) and eventually as a contestant on "Celebrity Apprentice."
Now, Hope Smith is a business mogul, leading MUTHA™ in its endeavors. Through MUTHA™, she continues to support charitable causes, including donating 5% of the MUTHA™ proceeds to International Medical Corps and 100% of the proceeds from the MUTHA™ F* Racism candle to The Conscious Kid.
In 2020, Hope Smith was recognized for her endeavors. She was listed among WWD Beauty's Emerging Brand Founders and Forbes Inspiring Female Founders in the Beauty Industry.
